Trumpeter Phil Harper paid his dues with Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers in the late 1980s. He then, with his brother, drummer Winard Harper, went on to form the band “The Harper Brothers” and recorded a series of records for the Verve label. Harper has shared the stage with the likes of Johnny Griffin, Cedar Walton, Benny Golson and many others. He is a highly soulful and lyrical trumpet player, and always has a story to tell. Band TBA
