The Floris Kappyene Trio is a state of the art piano trio consisting of three of Holland’s brightest young talents. The group features Floris Kappeyne on piano, Thijs Klassen on bass, and Wouter Kuhn on drums, all three winners of the prestigious Princes Christina Concours. With a sound rooted in the classic jazz trios of the 50s and 60s including McCoy Tyner and Herbie Hancock’s, the group makes extensive use of classical music and world music influences, and is a showcase for Kappeyne’s highly distinctive and effective writing.
