Tenor saxophonist Ben van den Dungen is a hard working, hard playing, and hard swinging jazz musician of the first order. He has recorded 80 albums and performed over 5000 concerts in 70 countries. Among other current projects, he leads his own quartet, performs with the well known latin jazz unit “Nueva Manteca,” and is a professor of jazz Saxophone at Codarts, Rotterdam. With a deep knowledge of the entire lineage of jazz saxophone, Ben van den Dungen’s music is tough, swinging, and full of blues and roots. His quartet is a long running group featuring the fantastic Spanish pianist Miguel Rodriguez, Marius Beets, bass, and Gijs Dijkhuizen, drums.
